Pediatric podiatry

Children's feet are still forming, and some things that look alarming are normal stages while others need intervention during the growing years. Knowing the difference is the whole point of a paediatric assessment.

What's Involved

  • Developmental assessment — Examination of alignment, gait, and range of motion for the child's age.
  • Growth-appropriate treatment — Orthotics, stretching, or activity modification rather than adult solutions.
  • Monitoring — Reviews through growth spurts, when problems tend to appear or resolve.

When to Come In

  • Toe walking or in-toeing — Persistent patterns beyond the age they usually settle.
  • Complaints of foot pain — Children rarely complain of foot pain without a reason.
  • Frequent tripping — Or refusing activities they used to enjoy.
