Prediabetes screening
Prediabetes screening
Prediabetes has no symptoms, and around a third of adults have it without knowing. It is also the one stage that can genuinely be reversed, which makes screening worth doing before anything feels wrong.
What's Involved
- Blood testing — Fasting glucose and HbA1c to identify where you sit.
- Risk assessment — Weight, blood pressure, family history, and lipids reviewed together.
- Intervention — A concrete diet and activity plan, with repeat testing to show whether it is working.
When to Come In
- Family history of diabetes — A parent or sibling with type 2 diabetes.
- Overweight and inactive — The strongest modifiable risk factors.
- Gestational diabetes — A history of diabetes during pregnancy.
